90 % of salinity problems are man made : Rain Water Harvesting is answer.

90 % of salinity problems are man made across the world and we must find out solution by judicious use of ground water in preventing coastal salinity as well as inland salinity. Punjab,  the green bowl of South Asia was once a barren land and people were nomadic in this region But after East India Company focused on irrigation and progressive farmers settled here, it was converted in to a totally different zone. How ever this area is facing salinity problems due to over exploitation of surface as well as ground water; as Said by Mr. Tushar Shah; Senior fellow at International Water Management Institute (IWMI) at National Workshop on ‘Coastal Salinity Management Strategies’.www.vardhmanenvirotech.com/blog

Idea, Intention, Initiative : water positive Habitat

Rain Water available in abundant quantity for daily storage and recharge or both !  Starting with reuse for daily need is the first wise decision and excess water is to be diverted to recharge structures i.e. Injecting Rain Water directly in to existing bore well, recharge well, dug well or simply a percolation well.  Recharge of Rain water depends on the ability of Mother Earth to accept Rain Water; i.e. aquifer pattern beneath.   Here is a simple guide that will help you decide your next step ( Storage or Recharge ) after collecting and Filtering Rain Water from Roof top !
